Ingredients

For the Rolls

  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry (1 box, 17.3 ounces) Thawed
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar Use up to 2/3 cup if you prefer more sweetness
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar (130 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon maple flavoring or vanilla extract
  • 3-5 tablespoons heavy cream or whole milk Add more for a thinner glaze

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375º Fahrenheit. Line a 12×17 baking pan with parchment paper or a nonstick baking mat.
  • Unwrap the pastry sheets and place them on a pastry mat or countertop. Let them thaw for a few minutes until you can unfold them without breaking.
  • Spread 2 tablespoons of butter over each sheet. Then sprinkle ¼ to ⅓ cup of brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon over each sheet.
  • Roll each sheet up jelly roll style and use a sharp knife to cut each roll into 6 equal pieces, yielding a total of 12 rolls.

Baking

  • Place the rolls cut side up on the baking tray and bake for 18-20 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and puffed up.

Glazing

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple flavor, and heavy cream until smooth and at the desired consistency.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls.

Notes

Best served immediately. For extra flavor, consider adding chopped nuts or raisins to the filling. Brush rolled with melted butter before baking for a shiny glaze.
