  • 2 pieces Ribeye Steaks
  • 2 tablespoons Salted Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Kosher Salt or to taste
  • 0.5 tablespoon Cracked Peppercorn Medley or to taste

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 475 degrees before you even start to season your steaks.
  • Coat your steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.

Searing

  • Over medium to high heat, melt the butter in an oven-proof skillet.
  • When the butter is melted and has turned a golden brown, place the steaks into the skillet. Let them sear for about 1 minute.
  • Flip the steaks and let them sear on the other side for the same amount of time.

Oven Cooking

  • Place the skillet in the oven for about 3 minutes.
  • Remove the steak from the skillet to prevent further cooking and place it on a cutting board.
  • Allow the steak to rest for 1-2 minutes to trap the juices inside, and then serve.

Notes

Always let your steak come to room temperature before cooking. A good sear adds flavor and texture. Use a meat thermometer for precise doneness.
