Honey Butter Chicken

Ingredients
  

For the chicken

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 cup cornstarch for coating
  • cup vegetable oil for frying

For the honey butter sauce

  • ½ cup honey
  • cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, beat the egg and add garlic salt.
  • Add the chicken cubes to the egg mixture and stir to coat.
  • Spread cornstarch on a plate and roll the chicken pieces in it until fully coated.

Fry the Chicken

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the coated chicken pieces for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

Make the Honey Butter Sauce

  • In a saucepan over low heat, combine honey, butter, minced garlic, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar.
  • Stir until the butter melts and the sauce is well mixed.

Combine Chicken with Sauce

  • Add the fried chicken to the saucepan and toss to coat the chicken in the honey butter sauce.

Notes

Serve warm over rice or with steamed vegetables. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
