Ingredients
  

For the banana bread

  • 3 overripe mashed bananas Use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and moisture.
  • 4 tablespoons melted vegan butter
  • ¾ cup maple syrup Can substitute with agave nectar.
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond or oat milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Feel free to add more for a stronger flavor.
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups regular or gluten-free all-purpose flour Ensure to use gluten-free flour for a gluten-free option.
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

For the cinnamon swirl

  • 4 tablespoons melted vegan butter
  • cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon

For the frosting

  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted vegan butter
  • 2 oz softened vegan cream cheese

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, melted vegan butter, maple syrup, almond milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Add baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, flour, and oats. Stir until all ingredients are well combined.
  • Pour half the batter into the greased loaf pan.
  • In a separate small bowl, mix the melted vegan butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon to create the cinnamon swirl. Spread half of this mixture over the batter in the loaf pan.
  • Add the remaining batter to the pan, then top with the rest of the cinnamon swirl mixture.

Baking

  • Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool before adding the frosting.

Frosting

  • For the frosting, mix powdered sugar, melted vegan butter, and softened cream cheese until smooth. Spread over the cooled bread.

Serving

  • Serve and enjoy this delightful treat warm with a cup of coffee or tea.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. Can freeze for up to two months if wrapped tightly.
