Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted) For dough

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 2 teaspoons of garlic powder, and ¾ teaspoon of salt.
  • In another bowl or a large measuring cup, whisk together the melted ½ cup of unsalted butter and 1 cup of buttermilk.
  • Pour the buttermilk mixture into the flour mixture and stir until everything is fully incorporated. The dough will be thick.
  • Gently fold in 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese.

Baking

  • Use a greased ¼ cup measuring cup to measure out each biscuit and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving at least 2 inches between each one.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the tops of the biscuits are a light golden brown.
  • In a small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter, ½ teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 tablespoon of fresh chopped parsley. Brush this mixture onto each biscuit while they are still hot.

Notes

These biscuits are best served warm and can be enjoyed with soup or as a side for meat dishes. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Tips: Don't overmix the dough and consider adding more garlic powder or cheese for stronger flavors.
