BBQ Chicken Pizza

A delicious and easy meal featuring tangy BBQ sauce, tender chicken, and gooey cheese on a crispy crust, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients
  

Pizza Base

  • 1 each Pizza Dough (pre-made or homemade) Can use store-bought or homemade dough.
  • 1/8 cup Cornmeal For sprinkling on the pizza pan.

Toppings

  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce (divided; use your favorite) Save half for spreading on the dough.
  • 1 1/2 cups Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast (cooked and chopped) Use leftover chicken for best results.
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)
  • 1/2 cup Smoked Gouda Cheese (shredded)
  • 1/4 each small Red Onion (thinly sliced)
  • 2 tbsp Cilantro (chopped) For garnish.
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil (for brushing on crust)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
  • On a lightly-floured surface, roll the dough into a large circle.
  • Lightly sprinkle cornmeal onto the bottom of your pizza pan and lay the dough on the pan.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the cooked chicken with 1/2 cup BBQ sauce. Stir to coat the chicken and set aside.
  • Spread the remaining 1/2 cup BBQ sauce evenly on the pizza dough.

Topping and Baking

  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the BBQ sauce layer.
  • Layer on the BBQ chicken and then add the sliced red onion.
  • Top with shredded gouda cheese.
  • Brush olive oil around the edges of the pizza dough.
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden.
  • Garnish with chopped cilantro, slice, and serve!

Notes

Serve hot with extra BBQ sauce for dipping. Great with a side salad or crunchy veggies.
