  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts Trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Ground black pepper
  • 1 pound bacon Cut in half
  • ½ cup real maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil and set aside.
  • Trim the stem ends of the Brussels sprouts and add them to a medium bowl. Toss them with olive oil, salt, and ground black pepper.
  • Wrap each Brussels sprout with a half slice of bacon, securing with a toothpick if necessary. Lay them on the baking sheet so they don’t touch each other.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup and brown sugar. Brush this mixture over the tops of the Brussels sprouts.

Cooking

  • Bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the bacon is crisp and the Brussels sprouts are tender.
  • Remove from the baking sheet and place on a serving dish. Serve warm with your favorite creamy dip.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider pre-cooking the bacon in the microwave for a few minutes before wrapping. Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup and brown sugar. Experiment with different spices or sauces for customization.
