  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • teaspoon baking soda
  • teaspoon salt

For the Maple Cream Sauce

  • ½ cup real maple syrup
  • ¼ cup salted butter
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • Chopped walnuts (optional for garnish) Use if desired

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, combine melted salted butter and packed brown sugar, mixing until well combined.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until fully combined.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this flour mixture to the sugar mixture, stirring until fully combined.
  • Fold in white chocolate chips and chopped walnuts or pecans, if desired.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20–25 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the top slightly browns.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

Maple Cream Sauce

  • In a saucepan, combine real maple syrup, salted butter, and packed brown sugar. Cook over medium heat until everything melts together.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in softened cream cheese until smooth.

Serving

  • Cut the blondies into squares and serve them warm on a plate.
  • Drizzle the maple cream sauce generously over the top. For a finishing touch, sprinkle with chopped walnuts if desired.

Notes

To store leftover blondies, place them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. If you want to keep them longer, refrigerate in the container for up to a week. The maple cream sauce can be stored separately in the fridge for the same amount of time.
