  • 4 slices Cheese (American, cheddar, or your choice) Select cheese based on preference for melting.
  • 4 slices Bread (sandwich bread or burger buns) Choose your favorite type of bread.
  • 1 medium Onion (optional) Adds flavor; omit if desired.
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder Can substitute with fresh garlic if preferred.
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust according to taste.
  • 1 tsp Pepper Adjust according to taste.
  • 2 tbsp Butter or oil for toasting Butter gives more flavor, oil is healthier.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Beef

  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add onion (if using), garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the pan with the beef and sauté for a few minutes until the onion is translucent.

Preparing the Sandwich

  • Preheat another skillet or griddle over medium heat and add butter or oil.
  • Place slices of bread on the skillet, and layer the cooked beef mixture and cheese on top of one slice.
  • Top with another slice of bread and press down lightly. Cook until golden brown, then flip and toast the other side until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy.
  • Remove from the skillet, slice, and serve hot.

Notes

Serve with crispy fries or a light salad for a complete meal. Offer condiments like ketchup or mustard for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over low heat or in the oven.
