Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough

  • ½ cup salted butter (room temperature) Make sure the butter is at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Line a large baking sheet with a silicone baking mat and set it aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the butter and sugars. Cream the butter and sugars until fluffy using a hand or stand mixer.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture and continue to mix until combined.
  • Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix until the dough starts to come together. It may seem a bit crumbly.
  • Gently stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Divide the dough into 12 or 6 equal portions for smaller or larger cookies, respectively.
  • Form the dough into balls that are tall and rounded.
  • Place the formed dough on the baking sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Bake the cookies for 15 minutes for larger cookies or 10 minutes for smaller cookies.
  • Check the internal temperature of the cookies to ensure they reach 160 degrees F.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the pan for at least 10 minutes.

Notes

Best served warm. These cookies pair wonderfully with milk or ice cream.
