  • 1 pound lump crabmeat Use high quality for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup Panko
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 unit egg
  • 2 tablespoons green onion (sliced)
  • 1/2 unit red bell pepper (finely diced)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • Juice of half unit lemon
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, add the crabmeat, mayonnaise, Panko, flour, egg, green onion, bell pepper, Worcestershire sauce, Cajun seasoning, and lemon juice.
  • Mix everything together until well combined and shape the mixture into patties.

Cooking

  • In a large saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the crab cakes to the pan.
  • Fry the patties until they are golden brown on each side, about 4-5 minutes.
  • Serve the crab cakes with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Serve with tartar sauce or a squeeze of fresh lemon. Pairs well with a side salad or fries. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Freeze uncooked patties with parchment paper in between.
