Ingredients
  

Chicken and Coating

  • 1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup cornstarch for coating
  • 0.33 cup vegetable oil for frying

Sauce

  • 1 cup sweet chili sauce or homemade

Preparation

  • Place the chicken pieces into a large bowl and season with garlic salt and paprika.
  • Crack the egg on top and mix well to coat the chicken evenly.
  • Transfer the chicken to a Ziplock bag, add cornstarch, seal, and shake to coat thoroughly.

Cooking

  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, add vegetable oil for frying.
  • Add the coated chicken and cook for 7-8 minutes, until browned and cooked through.
  • Pour the sweet chili sauce over the chicken and toss to coat.
  • Garnish with diced green onions if desired and serve over rice.

Notes

For added crispiness, ensure thorough coating in cornstarch. Adjust sweetness by altering the amount of sweet chili sauce used. For a spicier kick, consider adding red pepper flakes or jalapeƱos.
