  • 4 cans 14.5 oz Del Monte Green Beans, drained
  • 10 slices bacon (cooked) Cook according to package instructions
  • 2 Tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Place the drained green beans into a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  • Prepare the bacon according to the package instructions. Once cooked, cut it into large pieces and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  • Pour the mixture over the green beans and add the bacon. Gently stir until the green beans are evenly coated.
  • Place the green beans into a 9×13 casserole dish or baking pan.

Cooking

  • Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Notes

For extra flavor, try using crispy fried onions as a topping before baking. If you prefer a bit of heat, add some red pepper flakes to the sauce mixture. You can also substitute fresh green beans for canned ones, just make sure to blanch them first for tenderness. For a cheesy twist, sprinkle shredded cheese on top during the last 10 minutes of baking.
