Ingredients
  

Gravy Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons butter Unsalted is preferred.
  • cup all purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup white cheddar cheese curds Traditional choice.
  • 1 bag frozen fries Heat according to package instructions.

Instructions
 

Prepare the Gravy

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Cook the mixture until it turns golden, about 5 minutes.
  • Pour in the beef and chicken broths, and add salt and pepper. Whisk continuously to combine.
  • Continue cooking the gravy on medium-low heat until it thickens to your desired consistency.

Cook the Fries

  • While the gravy thickens, heat the frozen fries according to the package instructions.

Assemble Poutine

  • Once the fries are ready, plate them and pour the freshly made gravy over the top.
  • Crumble the white cheddar cheese curds on top and enjoy while hot.

Notes

Store gravy in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For variations, use different cheeses or toppings like pulled pork or sautéed mushrooms.
