Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 12 pieces Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 1 pound beef shaved steak (or skirt steak) Can substitute with grilled chicken or a meat-free option like mushrooms.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ medium onion (sliced)
  • 1 piece green bell pepper (sliced)
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 slices provolone cheese Can substitute with pepper jack cheese for a spicier kick.
  • 3 tablespoons butter Melted.
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried onion flakes

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Cut 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls horizontally in half to have a top and bottom piece. Place the bottom half in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 2 tablespoons olive oil, ½ medium onion sliced, and 1 green bell pepper sliced. Cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Remove the mixture from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add 1 pound of shaved beef steak. Cook until no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, then season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assembly

  • Layer the cooked beef on top of the rolls in the pan.
  • Place the cooked onions and peppers on top of the meat.
  • Top with the 6 slices of provolone cheese.
  • Place the top half of the buns on.
  • In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt 3 tablespoons butter. Mix in ¼ teaspoon garlic salt and 1 teaspoon dried onion flakes.
  • Brush the butter mixture on top of the buns using a basting brush.

Baking

  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil, then bake for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops of the buns are golden.
  • Cut into individual sliders and serve warm!

Notes

These sliders can be served with sides like potato chips, fries, or a fresh salad. Various dipping sauces such as ketchup or barbecue sauce can also add fun to the meal.
