  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter for the bars
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

For the frosting

  • ½ cup unsalted butter for frosting
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter for spreading

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, mix the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and 1 cup of unsalted butter. Beat until creamy.
  • Add the creamy peanut butter and mix well.
  • Beat in the eggs, salt, and baking soda.
  • Stir in the rolled oats and all-purpose flour until well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown. Let it cool completely.

Frosting

  • For the frosting, melt ½ cup unsalted butter in a saucepan. Mix in cocoa powder.
  • Remove from heat and add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix until smooth.
  • Spread the frosting over the cooled bars, then top with 1 cup of creamy peanut butter.

Serving

  • Cut into squares and enjoy!
