  • 2 packets instant yeast
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 1 whole egg
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

Filling Ingredients

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 8 ounces softened butter For spreading on the dough.

Cream Cheese Icing Ingredients

  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 8 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Dash salt

Instructions
 

Dough Preparation

  • Warm the whole milk until it's lukewarm and whisk in the instant yeast. Let it sit for a few minutes.
  • Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, softened butter, whole egg, and egg yolks. Mix well.
  • Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.

Filling Preparation

  • Roll the dough into a rectangle.
  • Spread 8 ounces of softened butter over the dough.
  • Mix ½ cup brown sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon, then sprinkle this mixture over the buttered dough.
  • Roll the dough tightly and slice it into rolls.

Cream Cheese Icing Preparation

  • In a bowl, beat ½ cup softened butter with 8 ounces softened cream cheese until smooth.
  • Gradually add 4 cups powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and a dash of salt. Mix until creamy and set aside.

Serving

  • Serve your freshly baked cinnamon rolls warm with a generous drizzle of cream cheese icing on top.

Notes
