Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup melted unsalted butter Make sure the butter is melted but not hot.
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs Add one at a time.
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour Can substitute part with whole wheat flour.
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Topping

  • ½ cup Nutella Swirl into the batter creatively.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9 x 13 x 2-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving a 1-inch overhang on the sides.
  • Lightly spray the parchment paper with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine melted unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar, mixing until well combined.
  • Add eggs and egg yolk one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  • Gradually stir the flour mixture into the sugar mixture until everything is fully mixed.

Baking

  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Drop Nutella on top in small spoonfuls and use a butterknife to swirl the Nutella into the batter.
  • Bake for about 25 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Serving

  • Let the blondies cool completely before slicing and serving.
  • Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled. Pair with vanilla ice cream or chocolate sauce for an extra treat.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Freeze for up to three months. Don't overmix the batter once the flour is added for best texture. Variations include adding different flavor extracts or nuts.
