Marry Me Shrimp with Pasta

Ingredients
  

Pasta and Shrimp

  • 8 ounces linguine pasta
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated Use freshly grated for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup sun-dried tomatoes, drained and chopped
  • cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta

  • Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Shrimp

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add shrimp seasoned with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until shrimp are pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.

Make the Sauce

  • In the same skillet, melt butter. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Sprinkle in flour and stir to combine. Gradually pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, whisking constantly. Bring to a simmer and let it thicken.

Combine Ingredients

  • Stir in grated parmesan, sun-dried tomatoes, basil, paprika, and the cooked shrimp. Mix well.

Mix with Pasta

  • Add the drained linguine into the skillet with the sauce and shrimp. Toss everything together until well combined.

Season

  • Adjust with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

Serve warm, garnished with additional basil or parmesan cheese. Pair with a side salad or garlic bread.
