Ingredients

For the Patties

  • 1.5 pounds ground lamb
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon fresh mint (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

For Assembling

  • 4 pieces hamburger buns
  • mayonnaise
  • Tzatziki
  • sliced tomato
  • sliced red onion
  • arugula
  • crumbled feta cheese

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, rosemary, oregano, mint, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  • Form the mixture into 4 round patties.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.

Cooking

  • Cook each lamb patty in the skillet for about 4 minutes on each side. The internal temperature should reach 135-140 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest at room temperature for a few minutes.

Assembly

  • To assemble the burgers, spread some mayonnaise on your buns.
  • On the bottom bun, place a handful of arugula, followed by the lamb patty.
  • Top the lamb patty with sliced tomato, red onion, crumbled feta, and a generous dollop of Tzatziki sauce. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Place the top bun on and enjoy your fresh lamb burger!

Notes

Use fresh herbs for the best flavor. Do not over-mix the meat when combining with other ingredients; it can make the burgers tough. Allow the patties to rest after cooking; this helps keep them juicy and flavorful. You can adjust spices according to your preference.
