  • 8 ounces linguine noodles Can substitute with rice noodles for a gluten-free option.
  • 1 pound lean ground beef You can also substitute with ground turkey or tofu.
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes Increase for a spicier kick.
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • to taste sliced green onions For garnish.

Preparation

  • Boil the linguine noodles until al dente, following the package instructions. After boiling, drain the noodles and set them aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the lean ground beef. Cook and crumble the meat for about 5-7 minutes or until it is no longer pink.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, ground ginger, crushed red pepper flakes, black pepper, and cornstarch.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked ground beef and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  • Add the cooked noodles to the meat mixture and toss everything together until well combined.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Serve Korean Beef Noodles hot, with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of water or broth to loosen the noodles.
