Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 12 pieces dinner rolls (sliced in half) Use fresh dinner rolls for the best texture and flavor.
  • 24 slices deli ham (I used Honey-smoked Ham)
  • 6 slices Havarti cheese (halved and folded) Feel free to substitute with cheddar or Swiss cheese.

Butter Mixture

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1/3 cup granulated cane sugar
  • 2 Tbsp yellow mustard Consider adding spicy mustard for extra flavor.
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp poppy seeds

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, stir in the sugar, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and poppy seeds until well combined.
  • Place the bottom halves of the dinner rolls in a baking dish. Layer the ham slices on top of the rolls, followed by the folded slices of Havarti cheese.
  • Place the top halves of the rolls back on top of the cheese.
  • Pour the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the sliders, making sure to coat them well.

Baking

  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

These sliders are best served warm right out of the oven. They can be cut into smaller pieces for easy serving at parties. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3 days. To reheat, place in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through.
