  • 4 pieces ripe Hass avocados Choose ripe avocados for the best flavor and creaminess.
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 piece finely chopped serrano pepper Add more for a spicier taste.
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt Adjust according to taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon minced garlic Use heaping for extra flavor.
  • 1/2 piece lime Juice of half a lime.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Mash up the avocados in a bowl until desired consistency (chunky or smooth).
  • Add the red onion, cilantro, serrano pepper, salt, and garlic to the bowl. Mix well.
  • Pour in the lime juice and mix well again.
  • Cover with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the guacamole and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve with tortilla chips, on salads, burritos, burgers, or quesadillas.

Notes

To keep guacamole fresh, cover tightly with plastic wrap. Store in the fridge for up to two days. If browning occurs, mix again before serving.
