Ingredients
  

For the Marinade

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice Adjust according to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For brushing the grill too
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper Add more for extra spice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder

Main Ingredients

  • 4 filets tilapia Thawed if using frozen

Preparation

  • Whisk together the fresh lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, black pepper, salt, and mustard powder in a bowl.
  • Pour the marinade into a large sealable bag or container and add the tilapia filets. Ensure they are thawed if previously frozen.
  • Marinate the tilapia for 30 minutes to an hour.
  • While the filets are marinating, preheat the grill to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Grilling

  • Remove the tilapia from the marinade. Brush the grill grates with olive oil.
  • Place the filets on the grill and cook for 4-6 minutes on each side.
  • Ensure the filets easily come off the grill; if sticking, cook for another 1-2 minutes.

Serving

  • Remove the grilled tilapia from the grill and serve immediately. Enjoy with sides like steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days, or freeze wrapped tightly for longer storage. Adjust marinade ingredients to taste or try variations like adding chili powder for spice.
