  • 2 pounds green beans Trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1/2 pound bacon, diced Cooked until crispy
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced For sautéing
  • 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Trim the ends of the green beans and slice them into 2-inch pieces.

Cooking

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the green beans. Cook until tender, about 5-8 minutes, then drain and place the beans in an ice bath.
  • In a medium skillet, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel.
  • Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the garlic is tender and fragrant.
  • Add the cooked bacon, drained green beans, and grated Parmesan cheese to the skillet. Stir and heat everything through, then season with salt and pepper.

Notes

Best served warm. Can be paired with grilled meats, roasted chicken, or pasta. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
