Ingredients
  

For the Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 ¼ cup milk

For Frying

  • Oil Oil for frying Enough to fill the saucepan ½-inch up the sides
  • 1 jar (16-ounce) dill pickle slices Drain and pat dry before use
  • Fry sauce Fry sauce for dipping (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a medium saucepan, add oil until it is ½-inch up the sides and heat over medium-high heat.
  • Drain the jar of dill pickle slices and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  • Pour in the milk and stir until the batter is smooth with no lumps.

Cooking

  • Dip each pickle slice into the batter and add it to the hot oil.
  • Fry the pickles for 2-3 minutes or until they are golden and crispy.
  • Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Serving

  • Serve hot and crispy, alone or with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer to regain crispiness. Avoid microwaving to prevent sogginess. You can also adjust the seasoning in the batter to your taste.
