Espresso Martini with Baileys

Ingredients
  

For the rimming

  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground coffee

For the cocktail

  • 4 ounces espresso (room temp or cold) plus a bit more for rimming the glasses
  • 4 ounces Baileys or half Baileys and half Kahlua for more coffee flavor
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • Ice Ice for shaking
  • 3 pieces coffee beans optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Mix together the sugar and ground coffee on a small plate.
  • Pour a little espresso into a saucer, flat plate, or shallow bowl larger than your glass.
  • Dip the rims of the glasses in the espresso to wet them, then dip in the sugar mix.

Mixing

  • Add the Baileys, espresso, and vodka to a cocktail shaker.
  • Fill the cocktail shaker about halfway with ice.
  • Shake well and strain the mixture into the rimmed glasses.
  • Top each drink with 3 coffee beans and/or grated coffee beans for garnish.

Notes

Serve chilled for the best flavors. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to a day, but best enjoyed fresh. Avoid freezing.
