Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 cup butter (or beef drippings, bacon fat, or a combination of butter and oil)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of whole milk, 3 large eggs, and 1 ½ teaspoons of salt. Whisk everything together until fully combined. Let it sit for 20 minutes.
  • While the batter is resting, remove all the oven racks except the one at the very bottom. Pour ¼ cup of butter or drippings into a 10-inch skillet, or divide it between a 12-cup muffin pan.
  • Place the skillet in the oven, or if you’re using a muffin tin, place it on a large baking sheet. Bake for 5 minutes until the oil and pan are hot.
  • Carefully take the skillet or muffin pan out of the oven. Whisk the batter again, then pour it all into the skillet or divide it between the muffin cups.
  • Bake for 25 minutes, or until the pudding puffs up and turns a nice golden brown. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Serve your Yorkshire puddings hot right out of the oven with gravy. They can also be served with roast meats and vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
