Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 8 oz lasagna noodles Cook according to package instructions.
  • 2 lbs ground beef Can be substituted with vegetables for a vegetarian version.
  • 1 large onion Chopped.
  • 32 oz spaghetti sauce Use a good quality sauce for better flavor.
  • 16 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2.25 cups mozzarella cheese Shredded.
  • 3/4 cups grated parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Boil the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large pan, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion over medium heat until fully cooked and no longer pink.
  • Add the spaghetti sauce to the pan with the cooked beef and let it simmer for a few minutes.

Assembly

  • In a baking dish, spread a little of the sauce mixture at the bottom.
  • Layer noodles, ricotta cheese, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat this process until all ingredients are used, finishing with sauce and mozzarella on top.
  • Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top of the lasagna.

Baking

  • Cover the dish with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let the lasagna sit for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve hot with a side salad and garlic bread. Garnish with fresh basil or extra parmesan if desired. If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container for up to four days or freeze before baking.
