Ingredients

  • 2 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon whole allspice
  • 1 large orange sliced

Cider Base

  • 8 cups apple cider (2 quarts)
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar packed

Preparation

  • Pour the apple cider into the crockpot.
  • Add the brown sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice, and sliced orange to the crockpot.
  • Cover and cook on low for at least 2 hours.
  • Stir occasionally and keep warm until ready to serve.

Serving

  • Use a small strainer to discard the spices, cinnamon sticks, and orange slices when serving.
  • Serve hot in mugs and garnish with a cinnamon stick or a slice of orange.

Notes

Adjust the sweetness by adding more brown sugar if desired. For a spiced version, add a splash of rum or bourbon before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
