Main Ingredients
- 1 cup butter softened
- 8 oz block cream cheese softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Preparation and Optional Finishes
- additional powdered sugar optional, as needed for dusting
Instructions
Preheat to 350°F and line two baking sheets. Cream softened butter and cream cheese with both sugars and vanilla until smooth.
Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt, then mix into the creamed base just until no dry flour remains. Chill briefly if the dough is too soft to portion.
Divide into 24 equal portions, spacing 12 on each sheet. Bake the sheets one at a time for about 10–12 minutes each, until edges are set and lightly golden and centers no longer look wet.
Rest each batch on its pan for 5 minutes until stable enough to lift, then transfer to a rack. Cool completely before optional powdered-sugar dusting.
- Cool completely before covering; refrigerate in an airtight container.
- Freeze extra cookies in a covered container and thaw before serving.
