Main Ingredients

  • 8 oz grilled chicken breast strips
  • 8 cups lettuce (mix of baby red and green leaf lettuce and romaine)
  • 4 slices bacon (cooked and chopped)
  • 1/4 cup red onion (sliced or pickled purple onions)
  • 1 avocado (sliced)
  • 12 cherry tomatoes (cut into slices or halved)
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs (quartered)
  • 1 cup packed fresh basil (about 1 oz)

Dressing

  • 3/4 cup Caesar dressing (Newman's Own brand the vinaigrette-style)
  • 2 cloves garlic (peeled)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (Daisy brand)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (Hellman's)
  • 2 Tbsp parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
  • 1 Tbsp cane sugar

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by grilling the chicken breast strips until they are cooked through. Let them cool and then slice them.
  • In a big bowl, mix the lettuce to create a base for your salad.
  • Arrange the chicken, bacon, red onion, avocado, cherry tomatoes, and hard-boiled eggs on top of the lettuce.

Dress the Salad

  • For the dressing, blend the garlic, sour cream, mayonnaise, parmesan cheese, and cane sugar in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust the thickness with water if needed.
  • Drizzle the dressing over the salad.
  • Top with fresh basil for extra flavor.

Notes

Serve the Cobb Salad in individual bowls or on a large platter for sharing. It can be served cold or at room temperature, making it perfect for picnics or gatherings. To store leftovers, keep the salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. If possible, store the dressing separately to keep the salad fresh.
