Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it with cooking spray.
  • Chop the cinnamon roll dough into small bite-sized pieces, ensuring they are all roughly the same size for even cooking.
  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them together until well-beaten.
  • Add milk and heavy cream to the eggs, whisking again to combine.
  • Stir in vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt, mixing thoroughly until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  • Place the chopped cinnamon roll dough into the egg mixture, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
  • Melt butter in a small microwave-safe bowl or on the stovetop, then drizzle it over the dough and egg mixture.
  • Carefully stir the mixture to coat the cinnamon roll dough in the butter.
  • Transfer the cinnamon roll dough mixture to the prepared baking sheet, spreading it out evenly in a single layer.

Baking

  • Bake the cinnamon roll bites in the preheated oven for about 15-18 minutes, or until they are golden brown and slightly crispy on the edges.
  • While the bites are baking, warm the maple syrup in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Once the bites are done baking, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes.

Serving

  • Dust the cinnamon roll French toast bites lightly with powdered sugar.
  • Serve the bites immediately, drizzling the warmed maple syrup over them just before eating.
