Crepe Batter Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk Use whole milk for best flavor and texture.
  • 4 pieces eggs Large eggs are recommended.
  • 2 Tablespoons salted butter (melted and cooled) Melt the butter before measuring.
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract Use pure vanilla for better flavor.
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder Quality cocoa powder enhances the flavor.
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 3 Tablespoons butter for cooking This will be used in the skillet for cooking.

Instructions
 

Make the Crepe Batter

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and sea salt.
  • Combine both mixtures and whisk until the batter is smooth.
  • Let the batter rest for about 30 minutes.

Cook the Chocolate Crepes

  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt a little butter in it.
  • Pour about ¼ cup of batter into the skillet and swirl to cover the bottom.
  • Cook for about 1-2 minutes until the edges start to lift.
  • Flip the crepe and cook for another 1 minute on the other side.
  • Repeat this process until all the batter is used.

Notes

Serve warm with fresh fruits, whipped cream, or chocolate sauce. Store leftover crepes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
