Ingredients
  

For the brownie batter

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup regular unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup regular M&M's, plus more for topping
  • 1/4 cup mini M&M's, plus more for topping

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and vegetable oil.
  • Stir in the cocoa powder and chopped dark chocolate until smooth.
  • Add the eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract to the mixture. Stir until well combined.
  • Gently fold in the flour, salt, and baking powder. Do not overmix.
  • Mix in the semisweet chocolate chips and both types of M&M's.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. Spread it evenly and sprinkle some extra M&M's on top.

Baking

  • Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let the brownies cool in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. For extra indulgence, try them with vanilla ice cream or drizzled with chocolate syrup. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, refrigerate for up to a week, or freeze for up to a month.
