  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9-inch square baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.
  • In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips and sugar. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, stirring completely after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Add the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gently stir using big strokes just until everything is mixed. Avoid over-stirring.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared dish and bake for about 40 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool completely before cutting.

Notes
