Burger Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef Use high-quality ground beef for the best flavor and juiciness.
  • 8 slices bacon Cooked until crispy.
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns Butter for toasting.
  • cup blue cheese dressing
  • cup blue cheese crumbles Be careful not to break down the crumbles too much.
  • 1 red onion (sliced into ¼ inch rings)
  • 1 tomatoes (sliced into ¼ inch rounds)
  • butter lettuce
  • mayonnaise (optional) Use if desired.
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix together blue cheese dressing and blue cheese crumbles. Cover and place in the fridge.
  • Divide ground beef into 4 equal balls and shape them into patties.

Cooking

  • Heat a griddle or cast iron skillet to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place two patties on the hot griddle, seasoning them with salt and pepper to taste. Cook burgers for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • Once cooked, butter and toast the hamburger buns on the same skillet.

Assembly

  • Start with a toasted bun, spread mayonnaise (if desired), then add butter lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, two slices of bacon, a hamburger patty, and a generous helping of the blue cheese mixture. Finish with the top bun.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. You can separate components to keep everything fresh. Experiment with different types of blue cheese and adjust bacon slices based on richness preference.
