Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 3 medium ripe bananas mashed (about 1 cup) Make sure the bananas are very ripe for natural sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 2/3 cup sugar Add an extra tablespoon or two if you prefer sweeter bread.
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 1/3 cup all-purpose flour You can replace some with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional) Fold into the batter if using.

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, mix together the mashed bananas, baking soda, oil, sugar, beaten eggs, salt, and flour using a spatula or wooden spoon until well combined.
  • If you choose to use walnuts, gently fold them into the batter.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased 9x5 loaf pan.

Baking

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Notes

To keep your banana bread fresh, store it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to four days. If you want to keep it longer, slice the bread and place it in a freezer-safe bag. It can be frozen for up to three months. Thaw it at room temperature before serving.
