  • 4-5 pieces fresh peaches, sliced Choose ripe peaches for best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar For mixing with peaches.
  • 1 cup self-rising flour See notes for a gluten-free alternative.
  • 1/2 cup sugar For the flour mixture.
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Can be substituted with vegan butter.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350° Fahrenheit and lightly grease a 9-inch cake or pie pan.
  • Add the sliced peaches and 2 tablespoons of sugar to the prepared pan and mix them together.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the self-rising flour, sugar, and melted butter to form a crumbly mixture.

Baking

  • Layer the drained and sliced peaches in the prepared pan, then top with the flour mixture. Do not stir; simply spread the flour mixture evenly on top of the peaches.
  • Bake the peach cobbler for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
  • Let it cool for 20 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
